in the last 4-5 years i have only had maybe 3 cups of coffee.
before that? i drank coffee and endured the most intense jitters (they felt more like convulsions). they would last the entire day. i did it just to get through my long days of nannying, college classes, work and then homework. i didn't sleep much, so i needed something to get me through.
flash forward to the last month... i had a friend posting about her frothy yolk coffee. sounds a little weird, right? well, let's be real... i'm pretty crunchy myself. so i didn't put it past me.
i finally decided to try it. i ate a good breakfast, frothed the yolk with some sugar and cream. watching it grow and froth is satisfying nonetheless. i used a few ounces of coffee (to start slow) and HELLLOOOOO! it was the most amazing thing ever. i swear the froth that the yolk, sugar and cream creates far exceeds the sweet cream or foam that starbucks offers. just saying. i was truly expecting the jitters... i thought i had tried everything.
i followed the recipe my insta friend, brie (@briebradshaw) shared and i made modifications based on what i had. i now stick with this recipe.
nourishing frothy yolk coffee:
+ 1 egg yolk
+ 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar
+ 1 ounce of heavy cream
+ sprinkle of cinnamon
+ as much coffee as you want
now:
froth the egg yolk, sugar and cream. pour coffee on top.
try it and be amazed.
